The Story Of The Size Comparison Project
In 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic, Roman and Alexandra Uchytel created the Size Comparison Project to compare ancient animals with their modern relatives, which went viral on social media.
At first, the main idea was born from children's questions about relatives of the animals they see in the zoo. Then palaeo-artists started to think about how extinct and modern animals would look next to each other, what's the difference in their size. And finally, the uniqueness of this project lies in the fact that everyone mostly compares ancient animals with humans, but no one has yet compared them with their modern relatives or ecological analogues.
To date, more than 100 such comparative images have been created, several articles have been written in various media, and promotional products have been developed based on these images.
And the project continues to evolve...
