Rom, I think that you need to read the post No. 42 and 43 from this page: http://animalbattle.yuku.com/topic/21?page=5#.UrkX9Pu0h8k - There you can see my calculation and the one from other poster about the weight of P. t. soloensis. The result from my data and the other poster were of 367 kg and 371.4 kg respectively. That’s why I said that the largest weight for the Ngandong tiger was of 370 kg. These are not random calculations, but based in actual formulas from scientific documents. So, the figure of 370 kg is reliable and based in the large femur.

The technical problems at the original AVA forum are still present. For that reason, all the new information about this great tiger and other Pleistocene great cats will be published in this new address: http://animalbattle.yuku.com/topic/21/Body-size-of-the-Ngandong-tiger-Panthera-tigris-soloensis?page=3#.Urjin_u0h8k - About the old information, this will be still available at the old address, but ONLY from the page 1 to 40. The next post will not be from me or anyone of my working team: http://animalsversesanimals.yuku.com/topic/3029/Body-size-of-the-Ngandong-tiger-Panthera-tigris-soloensis?page=40#.Urjjn_u0h8l

Just a side note: the only weight recorded for the Javanese tiger is of 141 kg, however, this specimen was, apparently, not the largest on record. Some Javanese tiger skulls are larger than the largest from Sumatra. Taking in count that the scientific record from this last region was of 148.2 kg, then the Javanese tigers probably surpassed the 150 kg mark. For Bali tigers, there is not a single weight on record, and the figure of 90-100 kg was just estimated by Mazák.
